Locally Produced

Since Borden Organic milk is produced in Austin, right in the heart of Texas, it doesn’t have to travel across the country to get to your store. That means our products are the freshest they can be. In fact, our milk is usually delivered just one day after it’s produced. Local production also reduces the use of fossil fuels and creates fewer emissions because the products don’t have to travel long distances. And by keeping your money right here in Texas, you are helping to support your local economy.

Healthy Milk

At Borden we take every step to ensure that our milk is the healthiest you can buy. Because of this, all of our milk is produced without the use of artificial hormones. While hormones naturally occur in all milk, organic dairy cows are never injected with additional growth hormones to help increase production. And since they graze on chemical-free pastures, the risk for dietary exposure to pesticides is greatly reduced.

Organic milk is not only good for what is doesn’t contain, but recent studies show that it tends to be fresher and contain more nutrients than non-organic milk. Organically raised cows that eat a high level of fresh grass, clover pasture and grass clover silage produce milk that is, on average, 50% higher in Vitamin E, 75% higher in beta carotene (which our bodies convert to Vitamin A), and two to three times higher in antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthine than non-organic milk¹. It all seems pretty logical when you think of it. The healthier the cow, the healthier the milk.
